How to Avoid Green Halo Fringes in CapCut & Premiere Pro

Color Sampling Near the Hair

Never sample green from the bright center of your screen. Sample the green pixel right next to your ears or shoulders where lighting falls off.

CapCut Color Picker + Shadow

Setting Intensity too high makes dark t-shirts and pupils transparent. Keep Intensity around 40-50, and raise the Shadow slider to 20 to restore transparency depth.

Distance Beats Post-Production

Stand at least 5 feet (1.5m) away from your green fabric to eliminate green light bouncing onto your hair.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I use Blue Screen instead of Green Screen?

If your actor has blonde hair (which reflects green easily) or is wearing green clothing/jewelry, switch to Hollywood Chroma Blue.

Does CapCut support Chroma Key on phone and desktop?

Yes! In CapCut, select your overlay track > Cutout > Chroma Key. Pick your green color with the eyedropper, then adjust Intensity and Shadow.
